Iran Beaten by Sweden in Friendly

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian national football team lost to Sweden in a friendly match held in the European state on Tuesday evening.

In the match held at the Friends Arena, Sweden beat Iran 2-0 Team Melli.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic found the back of the net with a header in the 11th minute.

Ibrahimovic set up Marcus Berg to volley home a brilliant goal in the 21st minute.

Three minutes later, Vahid Amiri was brought down in the Sweden area and Iran captain Javad Nekounam converted his penalty in the 24th minute.

With one minute remaining, Ola Toivonen scored Sweden’s third goal.

Iran had defeated Chile 2-0 on Thursday in a friendly match held in Austria.
