Amir Abdollahian and the senior Omani diplomat both highlighted the role of the Red Cross and other international organizations in providing relief as well as medical and humanitarian assistance to the people of Yemen.

On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies began to militarily interfere in Yemen's internal affairs by launching deadly air strikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

A large number of innocent civilians have been killed or injured in  the air strikes since.
