In a meeting in Islamabad, Alireza Haqiqiaian, the Iranian envoy, and Siraj ul Haq, the Pakistani political figure, exchanged views over the latest developments in Yemen and stressed the necessity for the peaceful resolution of the Yemeni crisis.
"Tehran has always called for the resolution of problems through dialogue," Haqiqiaian said in the meeting, adding that if negotiations are held over the crisis in Yemen, they would yield good results.
Siraj ul Haq, for his part, emphasized that if the flames of the aggression on Yemen are not quenched, they will engulf other parts of the region.
He further urged his country's government to cooperate with Iran and Turkey to peacefully end the Yemeni crisis.
Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies on March 26 began to militarily interfere in Yemen's internal affairs by launching deadly air strikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
The Saudi-led coalition, including military forces from Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, Egypt, Sudan, Bahrain, Morocco, Jordan, and Egypt, has killed hundreds of civilians so far.
International agencies have expressed growing alarm over rising civilian casualties in Yemen.
