Suadi Invasion of Yemen Continues Mercilessly with West's Green Light: Iranian Commander

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi on Wednesday rapped Western countries for their silence over the recent Saudi-led aggression on Yemen, saying that it shows they have okayed the invasion.

General Firouzabadi criticized the silence of the international community, Muslim countries and the West in particular, over the  Saudi attacks against Yemen that are continuing  "mercilessly", saying that it could indicate that they have green-lighted the aggression.

Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies on March 26 began to militarily interfere in Yemen's internal affairs by launching deadly air strikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

The cruel attacks indicate that Saudi rulers have failed to dominate their domestic oppositions and rivals, and the war on Yemen is a way to cover up their internal failure, the senior Iranian military official added.

Earlier, Iran's foreign ministry also deeply regretted the killing of civilians in Yemen and urged the international community to take necessary measures to stop the Saudi-led aggression.
