Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan met his Indonesian counterpart, Ryamizard Ryacudu, on the sidelines of the Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS), held in Russia on Thursday.

The two ministers discussed major regional and international developments, with both calling for stronger cooperation between Tehran and Jakarta to enhance the capabilities of the Muslim world.

On the situation in the Middle East, Dehqan and Ryacudu called for the adoption of practical approaches for a serious fight against terrorism, extremism and the Takfiri-Zionist groups.

Dehqan's visit to Moscow took place at the invitation of his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu.

The 4th Moscow Conference on International Security, an event annually organized by the Russian Defense Ministry, has brought representatives of about 80 defense ministries together.
