Israel Beneficiary of Saudi “Dirty” War on Yemen: Iranian Speaker
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani strongly condemned Saudi-led military attacks on Yemen, adding that the Zionist regime of Israel benefits from such a “dirty belligerency.”
Addressing a Sunday session of the parliament, Larijani said Riyadh’s bellicose policy in launching a military campaign against Yemen just arouses feelings of hatred for the Saudi regime.
He also noted that Saudi Arabia will never reach its objectives by attacking the Yemeni people and such offensive only weakens Saudis’ position among Muslims.
Larijani further pointed to Iran’s proposal for ending the conflict in Yemen, which entails national dialogue among the Yemeni groups, and called on the Saudi officials to seize the opportunity before becoming more mired in scandal and defeat.
On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies began to militarily interfere in Yemen's internal affairs by launching deadly air strikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
The attacks have killed near 2,600 Yemeni people so far, according to sources in the Arab country.
