Iran’s Biabangard Wins Gold in Dan Kolov and Nikola Petrov Tourney
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Afshin Biabangard claimed a gold medal in the Dan Kolov and Nikola Petrov wrestling tournament on Saturday.
In the 71kg weight category, Greco-Roman wrestler Biabangard defeated Armenian Rafael Alexanian 4-0 in the final match and won the gold medal.
In the 98kg, Greco-Roman wrestler Mostafa Salehizadeh won the bronze medal after defeating his opponent from Norway.
Freestyle wrestler Reza Atri snatched won the silver medal after being defeated by Bulgarian wrestler Vladimir Dubov in the 57kg final match.
Freestyle wrestler Yadollah Mohebbi also claimed a silver medal in 125kg. He lost to Slovakian Soslan Gagloev in the final match.
The international tournament took place in Sofia, Bulgaria in the memory of Dan Kolov and Nikola Petrov is organized by the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation.
