Kyrgyz Director Hails Iranian Cinema as “Original”

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A Kyrgyz director whose film was screened in the ongoing 33rd Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) expressed his pleasure with watching Iranian films, and described Iran’s cinema as an original one.

In the fourth day of the 33rd Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF), the press conference of the film “Mountain Queen” was held with its director, Sadyk Sher-Niyaz, from Kyrgyzstan and Hossein Eidizadeh, Iranian Film critic, in attendance.

According to the public relations office of the 33rd FIFF, the Kyrgyz director said that he had enjoyed watching the Iranian film 'Closer', saying that Iranian cinema is an original cinema.

He further praised Iranian directors as the best directors in the world, and added, “Iranian directors know how to absorb audiences with a few actors and limited locations.”

The 33rd Fajr International Film Festival is underway in Tehran and will last until May 2, 2015. This is the first year that international section of FIFF is being held separately from the national one.
