Asian Men's U-23 Volleyball Championship: Iran Overpowers Philippines

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran stormed past the Philippines in straight sets 25-18, 25-21, 25-20 on Saturday in the 2015 Asian Men's U-23 Volleyball Championship.

Iran, who had defeated India and Qatar in its first second matches in Pool B, beat the Philippines to remain unbeaten.

The 2015 Asian Men's U-23 Volleyball Championship got underway in Naypyidaw, Myanmar, from 12 to 20 May 2015.

It is the inaugural edition of the tournament and serves as the Asian qualifier for the 2015 Men's U-23 World Championship to be held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates with the top two teams qualifying for the world championship.

Host the UAE, Russia, Italy, Cuba, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Tunisia and Egypt have already qualified for the world meet.
