Iran Defeats Finland Volleyball Team in Friendly

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran volleyball team defeated Finland in its last friendly match on Saturday.

Iran beat Finland in straight sets 25-17, 25-22, 25-13 in preparation for the 2015 FIVB World League.

Iran was beaten by Finland 3-0 and 3-1 in its two previous matches.

"I am happy because we played better than our two previous matches," Iran coach Slobodan Kovac said. "Finland is a good team and European teams usually play very well."

Team Melli will travel to Prague on Sunday to play two more warm-up matches with the Czech Republic.

Kovac's men will depart from the Czech Republic for Los Angeles to start the FIVB World League.

Team Melli will begin the campaign against the US on May 30 and 31 in Los Angeles.

Iran has been drawn in Pool B along with Olympic champion Russia, 2014 World Champion Poland and World League titleholder the US.
