Iranian Discus Thrower Hadadi Withdraws from Asian Championships


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian discus thrower Ehsan Hadadi will not participate in the 21st Asian Athletics Championships.

Hadadi had said he would not compete at the Asian championships if he cannot throw more than 64 meters in the IAAF Diamond League in USA.

Hadadi came sixth with a throw of 61.67m in Diamond League.

Iran's Olympic silver medallist Hadadi has now withdrawn from the Asian championships.

Mahmoud Samimi will represent Iran in the event.

The 21st Asian Athletics Championships has brought more than 800 athletes from 45 Asian countries together in Wuhan, China.
