Iran's Ayoob Mousavi Finishes 5th in IWF Junior World Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ayoob Mousavi from Iran came fifth in the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Junior World Championships on Wednesday.

 The Iranian lifted 153kg in the snatch and 188kg in the clean and jerk for a 341kg total in the 85kg weight class.

Chinese Yongchao Zhao won the gold medal with a total of 353kg, lifting 156kg in the snatch and 197kg in the clean and jerk.

Ilia Atnabaev from Russia snatched the silver medal by lifting 161kg in the snatch, 191kg in the clean and jerk for a 352kg total.

Bronze medal went to Antonio Pizzolato from Italy with a total of 347kg.

Iran's Ali Miri won a silver medal on Tuesday in the 77kg class.

The tournament has brought 236 lifters from 42 countries together in the six-day competition in Wroclaw, Poland.

Iran is competing in the championships with four weightlifters.
