Iraqi PM Abadi in Iran for Talks

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi arrived in Tehran on Wednesday for on official visit to discuss a range of issues, including joint efforts in the fight against terrorism.

In his second visit to Iran as Iraq’s premier, Abadi was welcomed by Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh.

A formal welcoming ceremony will take place at Tehran’s Sa’d Abad Palace.

In meetings with multiple ranking Iranian officials, Abadi is expected to discuss Tehran-Baghdad bilateral ties, the latest regional and international developments as well as the fight against terrorism.

The Iraqi prime minster paid his first official visit to Iran in October 2014.
