Iran’s Jahanbakhsh Snubs Brighton Move

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian international winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh has snubbed a move to English Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion in order to join a better team.

Brighton had agreed a fee of around €2 million with NEC for the 21-year-old, but Jahanbaksh has decided against a move to Brighton as he weighs up other options.

The Eerste Divisie player of the season’s agent Amir Hashemi was quoted by De Telegraaf as saying, “Alireza wants to develop further and the style of play in The Championship would not help."

“Brighton wanted a quick decision to be made. Alireza, however, needs time to ponder his future."

"Perhaps he will think differently in about four weeks, but right now he can absolutely not say yes.”
