Kuwaiti cabinet said that the country’s security agencies have been placed on high alert against the “Black Terror”.

“The cabinet stresses that it will take whatever measures necessary to root out this scourge, and declares a relentless all-out confrontation with these terrorists,” it said in a statement quoted by Khaama Press.

On Friday a suicide bomber blasted his suicide vest among worshippers in Imam Sadiq mosque located in Sawaber District in the eastern part of Kuwaiti capital. It left 27 people killed and 227 others wounded.

The ISIL (Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant) terrorist group claimed the responsibility of the attack. Post on a twitter account related to the militant group stated that the attack was carried out by a suicide attacker wearing a suicide vest.

Kuwaiti Emir Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah said that Islam prevents the bloodshed of the innocent people and the attack is violation to the holiness of the holy month of Ramadan and Islamic law.

"National unity is a protective fence for the security of the nation," Sheikh Sabah said, according to a Reuters report.

Khalil al-Salih, a Kuwaiti lawmaker and witness of the attack said that there were about 2,000 people in the mosque by the time the explosion took place on Friday.

“It was obvious from the suicide bomber’s body that he was young. He walked into the prayer hall during sujood (kneeling in prayer), he looked … in his 20s, I saw him with my own eyes,” he told media.
