In case of a nuclear deal, the administration will be committed to the implementation of that deal, but it depends on the other side's commitment in meeting its obligations, President Rouhani said.
He made the remarks in a Tuesday meeting with Iranian journalists and media professionals in Tehran.
"If they remain committed to fulfilling their obligations within the framework of the (possible) deal, we will remain committed (to ours), too," he reassured.
The Iranian president, however, stressed that his administration is ready to reverse the path it has already taken on its nuclear energy program if world powers breach the potential nuclear deal.
Since June 17, senior representatives from Iran, the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) and the European Union have been in Vienna, Austria, to finalize the text of a comprehensive nuclear deal.
On Tuesday, they decided to continue diplomatic negotiations in Vienna for an extra week to nail down details of a final agreement on Tehran's nuclear program, extending a deadline that expired on Tuesday night.
