Iran Seeking 'Good' Nuclear Deal: Senior MP

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi reiterated that Tehran is looking for a good nuclear deal that ensures the country's red lines.

In the ongoing nuclear talks with world powers, Iran is seeking to reach a "good" deal, Bourjerdi told the Tasnim News Agency on Saturday.

He described a good nuclear agreement as one that respects Tehran's red lines and secures the country's national interests.

Iran is serious in the negotiations, he said, adding that "We hope others would understand that we will not give up our red lines in the talks."

Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, US, Britain, France, and Germany) have been negotiating over the past 22 months to end more than a decade of standoff over Tehran's civilian nuclear program once and for all.

The two sides are busy negotiating in the Austrian capital of Vienna to clinch a nuclear deal.

On Tuesday, the parties gave themselves an extra week beyond an end-June deadline to nail down details of the long-awaited accord.
