Iran Heads to IPC Shooting World Cup

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian shooters left Tehran on Tuesday to participate in the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Shooting World Cup.

The competition will take place between 7-15 July in Osijek, Croatia, replaces the previous qualifier scheduled for Volmerange, France, which was cancelled in February.

It’s expected approximately 175 athletes from 30 countries to compete in the event which acts as qualifiers for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

Mehdi Zamani, Sareh Javanmardi, Alieh Mahmoudi, Samira Eram, Masoumeh Khodabakhshi and Kobra Rezaei will represent Iran in the IPC Shooting World Cup.

The road to Rio 2016 started at the 2014 IPC Shooting World Championships in Suhl, Germany, where 63 athletes secured places for their countries.
