Putin Hails Development of Iran, Russia Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted the expansion of relations between Tehran and Moscow and described Iran as a reliable partner.

Speaking in a meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Thursday, Putin said the two countries' relations have developed positively despite all restrictions.

According to reports, Putin also described Iran as Russia's reliable partner.

President Rouhani, for his part, appreciated Moscow's positive efforts in the talks between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).

 

The meeting took place in the Russian city of Ufa on the sidelines of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) summit.

President Rouhani arrived in Ufa on Wednesday night to attend BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summits and to hold meetings with his counterparts.

He has made the trip at the official invitation of the Russian president.
