Iran to Participate at IPC Powerlifting Asian Open Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran will participate at the 2015 IPC Powerlifting Asian Open Championships, which will be held in Kazakhstan.
The competitions will be held from July 26 to 30 in Almaty.
IPC Powerlifting Asian Open Championships will act as a qualifier for Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
It's expected over 220 athletes from 30 countries will compete at one of the largest gatherings of powerlifters this year.
Siamand Rahman, the reigning world champion in the men’s over 107kg who holds the world record of 292kg, is among Iran's eight-man team representing the event.
