Resigned Yemeni President Has No Value for Riyadh: Ansarullah Chief

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement described Riyadh’s pretext to attack Yemen as baseless, saying that Saudis attach no value to the former Yemeni President Mansour Hadi.

On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies began to launch deadly air strikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said in a Sunday address that Hadi and his resigned cabinet are all hired by Saudi princes and are of no value to them.

“They are commodities purchased with money. Saudis have bought them and are taking advantage of them to reach their goals,” he added.

“Saudis well know that Mansour Hadi has no legitimacy in Yemen,” Houthi emphasized, Arabic-language al-Masirah satellite television network reported.

He also warned Saudi Arabia of the repercussions of their aggression, saying, “We would sacrifice anything, even our lives, to be free and independent.”

“We would never surrender to anyone but the great Allah,” he stressed, adding that Yemenis should pay the price for their freedom.

According to Yemen's Freedom House Foundation, the Saudi airstrikes have claimed the lives of nearly 4,000 Yemeni people so far while more than 7,000 others have been wounded, most of them civilians.
