1 Dead, 5 Others Shot in Seperate US Shooting Incidents

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Authorities said at least one person was shot dead and five other people were wounded in separate shootings in Cambridge, Roxbury and Mattapan.

Cambridge police reported a man was shot to death in a car in the area of Windsor and Main Street near the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at 8:41 pm, Boston Herald reported late wednesday. 

Police say they are actively looking for a suspect or suspects in the shooting, after the victim was found in a car on Main Street near Kendall Square.

The MIT emergency webpage reported: "Police now report that tonight's shooting did not happen in Kendall Square, but instead occurred a few blocks from campus. The victim then drove to Main Street, near the Marriott Hotel in Kendall Square. Police are on the scene. A suspect is not in custody. Please stay clear of the area. Updates to follow."

On Ernst Street in Roxbury, police confirmed two people were shot, with one suffering life-threatening injuries. Boston EMS tweeted that two victims were transported to hospitals.

On Hosmer Street in Mattapan, police reported three shot, with one suffering life-threatening injuries. EMS initially tweeted, "2 victims on Hosmer  1 non-viable."

The Boston shootings occurred shortly after 10 pm.
