Iran’s Armed Forces Fully Prepared to Counter Threats: Commander

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan on Thursday highlighted the preparedness of the country’s armed forces to deal with threats.

“All of the Armed Forces (in Iran) enjoy great military power and combative competence for countering threats,” General Pourdastan said in a ceremony in western Iranian city of Doroud.

The Iranian Armed Forces carefully monitor all moves along and beyond the country’s borders, he said, adding that appropriate strategies are devised to counter all possible threats.

Back in August, Iranian Armed Forces General Staff said outstanding progresses in the defense industry have made the country the region’s dominant power, even comparable with ultra-regional military powers.

Iran has in recent years made great headways in reinforcing its military might.

Tehran has repeatedly stated that its military power is defensive in nature and poses no threat to other countries.
