Deputy FM Dismisses Kuwaiti Media’s Allegations against Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian described allegations raised against Iran in Kuwait as unfounded, saying that problems in the Arab country have nothing to do with Tehran.

“The allegations leveled against Iran in Kuwait are totally baseless,” the top Iranian diplomat said in response to reports by Kuwaiti media alleging that members of a group arrested in the Arab country last month with weapons and ammunition had links with Iran.

Amir Abdollahian blamed such “unconstructive moves” on the opponents of the friendly ties between Iran and Kuwait.

“Tehran only thinks about the security of the region, and of the friendly and brotherly country, Kuwait,” he added.

The Iranian diplomat also noted that Kuwaiti officials are expected to take “wise actions” to prevent the continuation of such “destructive propaganda” campaign.
