11 Yemeni Civilians Killed in Saudi Air Strike

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saudi Arabia’s warplanes bombed a house in the southwestern Yemeni province of Taiz, killing 11 people.

The aerial strike targeted a house in a rural area southwest of the war-torn country, according to Al-Ahed News website.

Saudi aircraft also hit docks at Yemen’s western Hodeidah port 5 times, inflicting heavy damages on the port facilities, the report added.

Press TV also cited al-Masirah news channel as reporting that the Saudi army killed three civilians in the central province of Ma’rib and pounded the Baqim district in the northwestern province of Sa’ada with rockets and shells.

In the meantime, a large crowd of Yemeni people held demonstrations in capital Sana’s on Friday to protest against Saudi Arabia’s decision to bar thousands of Yemeni pilgrims from taking the Hajj pilgrimage this year.

Saudi Arabia began a military campaign against Yemen on March 26 – without a UN mandate – in an attempt to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and to restore power to fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

More than 4500 people, many of them children and women, have been killed in the Saudi-led aggression against the Arab country so far.
