Inspection of Iran’s Military Sites Not on Agenda of IAEA Delegation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior Iranian nuclear official announced on Saturday that inspection of the country’s military sites is not on the agenda of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) inspectors during their planned visit to Iran in the coming days.

The IAEA inspectors are scheduled to arrive in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Tuesday, Deputy Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Asghar Zare’an told IRNA.

“During the trip, we have some plans for negotiations,” he said, adding that in this round of talks, inspection of military sites is not on the agenda.

The nuclear official further emphasized that the visit by the IAEA delegation is in line with the recent nuclear agreement between Iran and six world powers, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14 reached a conclusion on a lasting nuclear agreement that would terminate all sanctions imposed on Tehran over its nuclear energy program after coming into force.
