Iran’s FM in Bangladesh for Talks

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Wednesday arrived in Bangladesh’s capital city of Dhaka after a two-day visit to China.

The Iranian minister is scheduled to meet with high-ranking officials of the South Asian country and discuss latest status of bilateral relations.

The trip to Bangladesh comes after Zarif paid an official visit to China, where he held meetings with high-ranking Chinese officials including his counterpart and the country’s prime minister.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, Zarif arrived in Chinese capital city of Beijing on Monday at the invitation of the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

This was Zarif’s first visit to China after the conclusion of nuclear talks between Iran and world powers on July 14 in the Austrian capital of Vienna.

Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14 reached a conclusion on a lasting nuclear agreement that would terminate all sanctions imposed on Tehran over its nuclear energy program after coming into force.
