Croatia Hails Iran’s Anti-Terror Approach

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Croatia’s Parliament Speaker Josip Leko said the European country acknowledges the significance of Iran’s attitude towards the global challenges, such as the fight against terrorism.

Speaking at a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart in Tehran on Saturday, Leko said Zagreb attaches importance to Tehran’s stances on international issues and problems, including terrorism.

Leko also described the Islamic Republic as an “important, great and influential power”, calling for constant dialogue between his country and Iran.

Voicing Croatia’s willingness to promote cooperation with non-European countries, the speaker said his country shares interests with Iran in the Middle East region.

The visiting European also noted that he sees a bright future for economic ties between Croatia and Iran.

The promising prospect of a nuclear agreement reached between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14 has prompted many Western countries to look for closer political and economic relations with Iran.

After coming into force, the agreement would terminate all nuclear–related sanctions imposed on Iran.
