Yemen’s Missile Capabilities Unabated: Revolutionary Figure

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Vice chairman of the high council of Yemen’s revolution underscored that the Arab country’s missile capabilities have not slackened and its missile storage depots have remained unharmed despite the Saudi-led military aggression.

In an interview with the Tasnim News Agency, Naif al-Qanis dismissed the news of any slowdown in Yemen’s missile capabilities.

“Saudis think that Yemen’s missile capability has been ruined, but they had better know that Yemen’s missile capabilities and a lot of its missile depos are in place and unharmed,” Qanis added.

He noted that the Yemeni army and public committees’ defensive tactics in the face of Saudi attacks are focused on ground forces rather than missiles.

However, he added, it does not mean that Yemen pays no attention to its missiles.

Referring to an upgrade in Yemen’s missile capabilities, Qanis said local experts are manufacturing two types of indigenous missiles.

He noted that Yemeni experts have also managed to upgrade the Scud ballistic missiles, and are ready to fire them when necessary.

The upgrading of the missile was made public when it targeted an air base in Riyadh and killed a number of Saudi officers, Qanis added.

A delegation of the high council of Yemen’s revolution is on a visit to Iran. On Tuesday, the delegation members held a meeting with Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani.

Yemeni people have been under massive airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition for more than six months.

On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies, began to launch deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
