Speaking to reporters after Wednesday's meeting in Tehran, Zanganeh said Indonesia is “an important Muslim country”, and underlined that Iran attaches great importance to its ties with the East Asian country.

“Iran is interested in cooperating with Indonesia on exports of crude oil, gas liquids and other products such as liquefied natural gas (LNG),” he stated.

The minister noted that Indonesia can also make investments in Iran’s oil, gas and petrochemical projects.

He further said that Iran is ready to participate in projects to construct refineries in Indonesia, and noted that an agreement had been reached in talks with Said over the outlines of a cooperation agreement.

The Iranian minister said further discussions over the agreement will be held as technical teams from both sides meet in Tehran on Thursday.
