Iran’s Larijani Lauds Leader’s Role in Maintaining Nuclear Rights

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Ali Larijani highlighted the significant role Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei played in the course of nuclear talks between Tehran and world powers and in protecting the country's nuclear rights.

Imam Khamenei had a great role in achieving Iran’s nuclear knowledge, Larijani said on Friday, adding that Supreme Leader resisted the enemy’s pressures for the shutdown of nuclear Research and Development (R&D) activities during the talks between Iran and world powers.

Westerners, then, were asking for an end to Tehran’s nuclear activities, Larijani noted, stressing that the Leader was the person who brought the country’s nuclear program backed on track at the time.

He also hailed Supreme Leader’s role in terminating anti-Iran sanctions.

Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehran's nuclear program.

The comprehensive nuclear deal would terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran after coming into force.

Experts believe that Iran’s economic growth would rise remarkably after the final nuclear deal takes effect.
