More Anti-Regime Rallies Held in Bahrain

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Bahraini protesters held new rallies to voice their anger at the ruling Al Khalifah regime’s crackdown.

Protesters in Bahrain also condemned attacks on Shiite mourners holding ceremonies to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shiite imam.

On Friday, demonstrators in the capital Manama slammed the regime’s policies toward the mourners during the lunar month of Muharram.

The protests came after security forces removed all placards and banners related to the mourning processions.

The call for protest was made by Bahrain’s main opposition bloc, the al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, Press TV reported.
