Behdad Salimi Misses World Weightlifting Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s super heavyweight Behdad Salimi missed the 2015 World Weightlifting Championship after he suffered a serious knee injury in the training on Monday.
Salimi was helped off the field.
He will have an MRI Tuesday afternoon to confirm the extent of the injury, according to Iran Weightlifting Federation’s doctor Davoud Bagheri.
The 2015 IWF World Weightlifting Championships will be held in the United States for the first time in more than 40 years.
Saeid Mohammadpour has already missed the competition with an elbow injury.
The event will be held in Houston, Texas at the George R. Brown Convention Center from November 20-28, 2015.
