TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s super heavyweight weightlifter Behdad Salimi suffered a left knee injury after Monday's practice.

Earlier, it has been announced that the 2012 Olympic gold medallist has missed the 2015 World Weightlifting Championship scheduled for November 20-28 in Houston, Texas.

Salimi underwent an MRI on Tuesday and it showed the extent of the damage.

“I should have surgery since I have suffered a torn ACL. I will return to the field after four months,” Salimi said.
