In their meeting, Schulz and Larijani discussed the bilateral relations between Iran and the European Parliament.

They also discussed the latest developments in the Middle East, with the focus on a crisis that has engulfed Syria for more than 4 years.

The two officials held a joint press conference after the meeting.

During his stay in Tehran, Schulz is also scheduled to meet Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, and Interior Minister and head of the country’s anti-drug office Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli.
