Police in Yekaterinburg, a Russian city of nearly 1.4 million population in the Ural Mountains, evacuated at least 150 people from Koltsovo Airport following the reports, Sputnik News cited RIA Novosti as reporting on Saturday.

"We have arrived and we are still on board the plane. They are searching for a bomb at the Koltsovo airport. There are many children of all ages inside the aircraft," a tweet said.

"It was reported that an explosive device has been found in the airport, from where 150 people have already been evacuated," a source in a regional law enforcement agency told RIA Novosti.

According to the latest information, the bomb threat proved to be a false alarm.
