Europe Should Brace for More Terror Attacks: Analyst

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A retired Lebanese army general said supports for terrorist activities in the Middle East have begun to boomerang on the West, warning that recent attacks in Paris were just the beginning of a wave of violence in Europe with the returning home of extremists.

The terrorist attacks in Paris appear to be a bad omen of return of terrorism from the Middle East to where it originated from, namely the West, Amin Hotait, also an expert in military and strategic affairs, told Tasnim.

France is just part of the West, and such deadly attacks could grip other European countries like Germany, Spain and Britain as well, he added.

The analyst described the inevitable rise of terrorism in the West as a result of return of more than 10,000 terrorist to their countries of origin.

Such huge influx of radicalized people to the West will lead to fundamental changes in their security equations, Hotait warned.

His comments came after a string of terrorist attacks killed at least 129 people in Paris on Friday night when gunmen and suicide bombers attacked restaurants, a concert hall and a sports stadium at six different locations across the French capital.

As many as 352 others are hospitalized, 99 of them in critical condition.

The ISIL terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the deadly attacks.

One of the attackers has been identified as a 29-year-old French citizen, believed to have links with the notorious ISIL group.
