Paris Terror Attacks Made Europe Change Policies: Analyst
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A prominent Lebanese analyst said the recent terrorist attacks in the French capital of Paris that killed over 130 people have forced European countries to make a big change in their policies toward terrorism.
Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency, Nasser Qandil said what happened in France reminded the world nations that they cannot live in peace because terrorism has spread across the globe and bloodshed continues.
“The recent terrorist attacks in Paris put France and Europe in general on the verge of a unique transformation,” he noted, referring to a change in the policies of France and some other Western supporters of militancy in Syria.
The senior analyst went on to say that those who exploited the situation in Syria as an opportunity for malice and animosity toward President Bashar al-Assad now have realized that time is short (for seriously fighting against terrorism).
Late on Friday, a string of coordinated attacks in and around the French capital left at least 132 people dead and some 200 others injured.
A state of emergency has been declared in the European country shaken by the horrific attacks.
The West and its regional allies have been blamed for supporting the militants operating inside Syria for more than four years.
According to the United Nations, more than 250,000 people have been killed and one million wounded in the conflicts in Syria.
