Iran’s Bimeh Razi Wins at World Wrestling Clubs Cup

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Bimeh Razi of Iran defeated Titan Mercury of USA at the final match of the 2015 World Wrestling Clubs Cup and won the title.

The Iranian team overpowered Titan Mercury 7-1 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium and claimed the title.

57 kg – Vladimir Kenchiashvili (Iran) df. Tony Ramos (USA), 4-1
61 kg – Behnam Ehsanpour (Iran) df. Daniel Dennis (USA), 5-1
65 kg – Masoud Esmaeilpour (Iran) df. Morteza Ghiyasi (USA), 5-1
70 kg – Magmed Haji Rasoul (Iran) df. Dustin Schlatter (USA), 4-0
74 kg – Andrew Howe (USA) df. Alireza Ghasemi (Iran), 7-2
86 kg – Meisam Mostafa-Jokar (Iran) df. Mojtaba Goleij (USA), 3-2
97 kg – Reza Yazdani (Iran) df. Jake Varner (USA), 10-0
125 kg – Komeil Ghasemi (Iran) df. Bobby Telford (USA) 3-0

Earlier in the day, Kefayati Mashhad of Iran defeated Tashir club of Armenia 7-1 in the bronze medal match.

A total of 15 teams, namely Bimeh Razi (Iran), Setaragan (Iran), Kefayati Mashhad (Iran), Shahrdari Hamedan (Iran), Latin America, Hungary, Mongolia, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Bulgaria , Georgia, Titan Mercury (USA), Brazil and Azerbaijan took part in the two-day tournament.

The winning team at the World Wrestling Clubs Cup took a $50,000 prize. The second place squad was awarded $30,000 with the third place team earning $20,000.
