Tehran, Moscow to Discuss Development of Trade Ties at WTO Summit

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A Russian source announced that the country's Economy Minister Alexei Ulyukayev is scheduled to discuss expansion of bilateral economic relations during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart in Kenya on Wednesday.

"The ministers will discuss issues of economic cooperation and trade between the two countries," Elena Lashkina, the press secretary of Russia’s Ministry of Economy, told reporters on Tuesday, Sputnik News reported.

The meeting will take place on the sidelines of the World Trade Organization's (WTO) four-day 10th Ministerial Conference (MC10) in Nairobi.

She added that the Russian minister and Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh will explore various ways to develop economic cooperation between the two countries following the recent nuclear deal between Terhan and world powers and the upcoming removal of anti-Iran sanctions.

Economy ministers from over 160 states are attending the WTO, which aims to define the course of multilateral trade relations for the coming years.
