TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri underlined the role of free zones in the progress of Resistance Economy, a term referring to strategies for turning threats into opportunities and paving the way for the country’s economy to grow.

The leader also described Resistance Economy as a dynamic and long-term strategy that can help Iran realize its economic objectives.

Jahangiri is visiting Kish to attend the 17th Marine Industries Conference and inspect the progress of several project being implemented on the island, which is one of Iran’s free trade zones.

He said Iran enjoys numerous opportunities and advantages in marine industries and the development of the industries should be always on the agenda of the government.

The 4-day conference, which kicked off on Tuesday, has been organized by the Iranian Association of Naval Architecture and Maritime Engineering in collaboration with other national marine organizations, industries and businesses.
