A Turkish prosecutor opened an investigation into HDP head Selahattin Demirtas for calls for greater Kurdish self-governance, Reuters quoted Dogan news agency as reporting on Monday.

Demirtas, a lawyer-turned-politician, was one of the participants in a two-day congress of Kurdish groups this weekend that called for more self-governance.
