TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif voiced support for neighboring Afghanistan’s efforts to secure peace through inclusive talks among all Afghan groups.

Tehran supports Kabul’s efforts to establish security and its move toward peace through negotiations among Afghan parties, Zarif said in a meeting with Afghanistan’s Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah in Tehran on Tuesday.

The Iranian diplomat also called for the formulation of a “road-map” in Iran-Afghanistan bilateral relations.

The two officials further discussed ways to promote cooperation between Tehran and Kabul, with both stressing the need for the fight against terrorism and extremism.

The Afghan politician arrived in Tehran on Monday. He held a meeting with Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated Iran’s support for Afghanistan, saying the Islamic Republic regards peace and security in the neighboring country as its own.
