IAEA to Discuss Iran’s Nuclear Case after Sanctions Lift

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors will convene on Tuesday to discuss monitoring of Iran’s nuclear activities in the wake of the termination of anti-Tehran sanctions.

"The Board’s provisional agenda relates to verification and monitoring in the Islamic Republic of Iran in light of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231 (2015)," a statement released by the agency on Monday said.

The meeting will take place at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna at 10:30 a.m. local time (9:30 GMT) behind closed doors.

IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano is expected to hold a press conference after the Board meeting.

The meeting will come two days after removal of anti-Tehran sanctions following confirmations from the IAEA that Tehran had made good on its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the nuclear agreement finalized by Iran and six world powers in July 2015.
