President Hails JCPOA as Iran’s Innovative Model in Politics
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani highlighted the achievements of the Iranian people, including the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which he referred to as an ingenious model the Iranian diplomats introduced to the world of politics.
What brings glory to Iran is not only its rich history, but also the great works of Iranians today, President Rouhani said Wednesday night in an address to a gathering in Paris of Iranian people residing in France.
He then referred to the JCPOA –a lasting nuclear deal between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany)- as a new model created by the Iranian diplomats in the world of policy.
With the power of logic at the negotiating table, the Iranians also managed to make the United Nations Security Council annul all its previous resolutions against Tehran, and could even force the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors to terminate 12 anti-Iran resolutions all at once, he added.
The president further noted that Iran’s aim in the post-sanctions era is not trade alone, stressing that Tehran seeks to attract foreign investment and new technologies and develop joint export market by employing its huge, young and educated human resources.
The Iranian president and his 120-strong delegation of business leaders and cabinet ministers arrived in Paris on Wednesday.
After Italy, France is the second leg of President Rouhani’s first foreign trip after the JCPOA took effect on January 16.
