A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck the Osh province of Kyrgyzstan on November 17, 2015. It reportedly damaged at least 4,000 houses and over 100 other buildings including community centers and health clinics.

Deputy Head of IRCS for International Affairs and Human Rights Mohammad Shahabuddin Mommadi Araqi said on Saturday that 9 tons of aid were dispatched to the crisis-hit people in Kyrgyzstan on Friday.

The cargo, which included 100 tents and 2000 blankets, was delivered to the Red Crescent Society of Kyrgyzstan (RCSK) with the cooperation of the Iranian embassy in Bishkek, he noted.

The RCSK Chief also appreciated the aid dispatched by Iran, and called for expansion of cooperation and contact with the IRCS.
