Iran to Take Delivery of 5,000 Russian Freight Cars in 2016: Report

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Russian manufacturer Uralvagonzavod will export 5,000 freight wagons to Iran following the removal of anti-Tehran sanctions, a report said.

According to the report carried by Russia's Kommersant newspaper on Tuesday, Iran will take delivery of all the wagons before the end of 2016.

Russia's state development bank Vnesheconombank (VEB) will give a $140-million loan to Uralvagonzavod for exporting the cars to the Islamic Republic, the paper added.

It comes after Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14, 2015 finalized a comprehensive deal on Tehran’s nuclear program and implemented it on January 16.

The comprehensive nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), terminated all nuclear-related sanctions on Iran after coming into force.
