Iran Sinks Vietnam to Advance to AFC Futsal Championship Final
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian national team crushed Vietnam 13-1 at the AFC Futsal Championship semifinal on Friday.
Farhad Tavakoli scored four goals in this match, while Mehdi Javid (three goals), Hossein Tayebi (two goals), Mohammad Keshavarz (two goals) and Alireza Vafaei and Hamid Ahmadi were on target for Mohammad Nazemosharia’s team.
Earlier in the day, host Uzbekistan secured a penalty shootout victory over Thailand and advanced to the final match.
Team Melli will face Uzbekistan on Sunday in Tashkent’s Uzbekistan Stadium in the final match and Vietnam and Thailand meet in the third-place match.
Iran has won ten times out of the past 13 editions.
