In a ceremony held in Bandar Abbas port in southern Iran this morning, the IRGC naval forces received dozens of Ashura and Zolfaqar speedboats as well as rescue boats.
Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan and IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi were present at the ceremony.
In an address, General Dehqan underlined the need for boosting the combat and defense capabilities of Iranian Armed Forces, saying that development of Iran’s Navy power is aimed at establishing and maintaining peace, security and stability in the region.
He said that Iran’s military doctrine has been shaped based on deterrence, adding that, therefore, the Islamic Republic’s military might poses no threat to any country and only aggressors should be scared of it.
Noting that the speedboats and other vessels delivered to the IRGC Navy have been designed and made by the Marine Industries Organization of the Defense Ministry, General Dehqan praised the organization’s creativity, innovation and dynamism and highlighted its role in boosting the naval combat capabilities of the Armed Forces.
Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.
Tehran has always assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to the regional countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
