Hezbollah Terror Listing to Empower Resistance Front: Analyst

DAMASCUS (Tasnim) – A Syrian media analyst downgraded a recent move by the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) in labelling the Lebanese Resistance Movement, Hezbollah, as a terrorist group, saying such moves would just give more power to the Resistance front.

Media official with Syria's Al-Thawrah newspaper Khalaf al-Miftah told the Tasnim News Agency on Friday that the PGCC’s decision has no influence on the Lebanese Hezbollah.

Saudi Arabia, a leading member of the PGCC, can buy the support of certain politicians, but the regime cannot buy people’s feelings and conscience, Miftah said.

“Hezbollah is not just a political party or a resistance movement; It is a public resistant movement that has trespassed Arab and Islamic borders,” he went on to say.

Therefore, he added, the PGCC’s move would backfire and give further power to Hezbollah and the Resistance, leading to more disgrace for the mercenary regime of Al Saud.

Last week, the Arab monarchies of the Persian Gulf declared Hezbollah movement, which has been fighting terrorist groups in Syria and the Israeli occupation, a “terrorist group.”

The six-nation council officially added Hezbollah and all affiliated groups to its so-called list of terrorist organizations.
